House and attached cottage. Dated 1812. Coursed rubble with ashlar
dressings, stone slate roofs. 2 storeys, 2:1 bays. House, to left: ashlar
plinth, chamfered rusticated quoins. Central door of 6 reeded panels in
ashlar surround with bases and open pediment on cavetto brackets. Above it,
a circular ashlar plaque with inscription " TB ". 16-pane sash
1812
windows with crown glass in raised ashlar surrounds. Eaves band. Ashlar
coping. End stacks. Cottage to right, slightly recessed: flush quoins to
right. To right, board door in quoined surround. On each floor a side-
sliding sash window with deep dressed stone lintel with herringbone tooling
and projecting sill. Ashlar coping to right. End stacks. C20 single-
storey lean-to extension to right, not of special interest. Interior,
house: doors and window shutters with reeded panels; stone winder stair with
moulded treads and wrought-iron balusters; first-floor original cast-iron
fire grates. Interior, cottage: cast-iron kitchen range with reckon and
kettle crane; moulded joists.
