8/69 Garden wall and
summerhouse -
- II
Garden wall and summerhouse. Probably late C18. Red brick; stone slate
roof to summerhouse. Wall forms a right angle, one side extending
approximately 100 metres parallel to the track, and the other arm originally
extending down to the river with a grand archway, but is now mainly
collapsed below the C20 garage; stone slate coping. Summerhouse, set in
angle, is 5-sided, with on inner side 3 round-arched openings with ashlar
keystone and impost bands, radial glazing bars at the top, the centre
opening with leaved glazed doors matching the 32-pane sash windows in the
outer openings. Blocked opening in left side. Ashlar coping. Associated
with Clints Hall, now demolished.
