House, now shop. Dated 1746. Roughcast, stone slate roof. 2 storeys,
3 first-floor windows. Central C20 glazed door in moulded stone surround
W
with pulvinated frieze and pediment, in which is inscription 'I A'.

On either side, C20 shop windows. First floor: to left 10-pane fixed-light
fire window, other windows sashes with glazing bars. Shaped kneeler and
ashlar coping to left, brick stacks to left end and between bays 2 and 3.
Initials thought to refer to William I'Anson, father of Frances, the "Sweet
Lass of Richmond Hill", who was born in Leyburn.
