SE 18 NW COVERHAM WITH AGGLETHORPE COVERHAM ABBEY

House. C16 and C19. Ashlar, stone slate roof. 2-storeys, 2 first-floor
windows to east, gable-entry. Projecting quoins. Ground floor: 3 semi-
circular-headed sash windows with glazing bars and radial glazing bars in
surrounds with keystones and impost band. First floor: 2 sash windows with
glazing bars in plain surrounds flanking sculptured panel with letters "IHC"
below a coronet, with an interlace border, an eagle to the left and a letter
"A" to the right. Above, a lamb and flag motif. Below, 3 shields, and below
that a laughing head. Shaped kneelers, ashlar copings, end stack right.
C16 mullioned windows in rear wall. Right return contains end entry and
more reused sculpture and inscriptions.
