Boundary wall with door and gateway. C18 or C19. Rubble with sandstone, ashlar
dressings and some large quoin blocks, stone coping. About 12 m run of wall up
to 3 m high and continues flush with front of No 1, and at back edge of pave-
ment. Far left is wide opening to elliptical arch with keystone, but without
ashlar jambs, containing pair of painted plank doors under a plank tympanum;
off-centre, right, is a painted plank door under a large plain stone lintel. An
important adjunct to The Grange (q.v.) and visually significant to the
continuity of the street.
