II
Farmhouse : dated 1844 for J & I.Rowe. Flemish bond orange brick with
some yellow headers, pyramidal Welsh slate roof. Central and 1
lateral brick chimney. Square in plan. 2-storey symmetrical 3-bay
south-west front. End bays have 16-pane sashes below, 12-pane above,
under flat wedged stone heads and with stone sills. Central bay has
doorway with a semi-circular, gauged and rubbed head over a fanlight
with radial glazing bars and a board door. 12-pane sash above. To
rear is a plaque reading:
BUILT BY J & I ROWE A.D.1844
Interior: not inspected. late Georgian style
A very complete example of a local type of late Georgian style
farmhouse.
