Farmhouse, probably mid C17. Oak, extended and cased in brick probably 2nd quarter
of C19. Grey slate roof. The small framing with arch braces at corners is exposed
externally only on upper storey of west face, above C19 brick outshut. 2 and l½
storeys plus attic in west wing; the C17 part is roughly T-shaped. Head of T (west)
is of 2 rooms; leg of T has 1 main room plus former dairy. Irregular window pattern
with some later C20 replacements. Large chimney of brick.
Interior: Main room of east wing has chamfered oak beams and inglenook with bevelled
oak bressumer. Staircase renewed. Small-framed oak partitions to both storeys. Oak
roof structure; the north attic room has wrought purlins with run-out stops; heavy
ridge-piece diagonally set.
