Farm building, 1821, of Flemish bond brown brickwork with graded grey
slate roofs. An almost symmetrical open court of 2 storeys plus loft,
probably designed as stables. Central wing has slightly projecting
gable to front with 2 round recessed blank arches to lower storey, 1
filled; stone band at 1st floor, basket-arched recess containing
12-pane unequal sash to upper storey; pigeon-loft with a tall
round-arched niche containing flight-holes to each side of 2 lower
niches surmounted by a circular feature with stone inscribed
TE:V (Vernon):1821. A 1-flue chimney at apex of gable. Bay to each
side of gable is altered except for cambered skewback doorway in left
corner. Openings to lower storey of cross-wings altered. Some
12-pane unequal sashes in upper storey; 2 9-pane fixed lights in
right wing, plus 1 blocked opening in left wing. The gable of each
cross-wing has a 2-storey round-arched recess; right recess has 2
inserted windows to lower storey and pitching-eye above; circular
features in left gable are obscured by later extension of brick.
