2 pairs of houses. c1860s. Stucco with stucco detail; slate
roofs on 2 levels with coped ends and moulded eaves cornice; 2
rendered axial stacks and original stuccoed end stack on right
with moulded entablature. Double-depth plan, each pair with
paired entrance halls at the centre.
3 storeys over basement; each pair of houses a symmetrical
4-window front. Original horned sashes, except for No.13 (11a
on map), which has C20 windows; plain fanlights and original
panelled doors. Stucco detail includes: ground floor:
rusticated round-arched openings with alternate vermiculation
to windows and has pilasters to hoods on consoles to paired
doorways, the hoods linked to string; 1st floor: pilastered
surrounds with pediments on consoles; 2nd floor: plain
architraves and consoles under the eaves. Left-hand return has
gable pediment on consoles and paired windows to ground and
1st floors with similar surrounds to those at the front.
INTERIOR: not inspected but likely to be of interest.
A high quality stucco terrace design of the period.
