5/1 Myrtle Farmhouse

Farmhouse. C17. Rendered, double Roman tile roof, brick end stacks. Cross
passage, L-plan. 1½ storeys; 3 windows (in half dormers) above, 2 below, all
C20 casements; central door. 2 storey east wing (at rear), single storey lean-
to in angle. Single storey C19 former stable attached at west. Interior has through
passage position and deep chamfered beams with raised angle stops. Deep chimney
at west end with ingle seat, wide bressumer and heavy chamfered shelf; cupboard
to right (probable bacon curing chamber); wide newel stair far right. This
room has tenoned split lintel Tudor arch timber doorway to (modern) wing.
Further newel stair next to fireplace at east gable.
