House. Mid C19. Random rubble, limestone dressings, slate roofs with raised
coped verges and finials, ridge and gable stacks. Irregular plan, Gothic style.
2 storeys, 2 bays to right and 3 bays set back to left; to left, gable end has
2-light casement with chamfered mullion at ground floor, single light above with
chamfered transom and trefoil head, to right a mullion and transom window with
ogee heads and upper tracery, door with 4-centred arch and relieving arch, small
2-light window with trefoil heads and 2-light gabled dormer with trefoil heads;
ground floor right has plain mullion and transom window with paired sash with
trefoil heads, mullion and transom window above in gable in plain limestone
surround with quatrefoil above relieving arch, roof extended to lower eaves level
to left of gable; inner side of gable end has first floor single light with
trefoil head and gable over. Right return has external stack corbelled out at
upper level, C20 plate-glass window in limestone surround at ground and first
floor right, porch to right with pointed arched door and glazed addition at first
floor, rear wing with large weathered external stack; where gable to left meets
front gable, limestone quoins with carved trefoils. Left return has gable end
of main range carried over cross wing with bargeboards, weathered external stack
to side of cross wing and further single storey block with steeply pitched roof.
Rear has gable end to left with C20 plate-glass ground floor window, mullion and
transom window with trefoil heads in gable end, central bays have gabled dormer
as on front, wing to right has gable end with 2-light casement with trefoil
heads, main range extending further to right, not fully visible at time of survey
(March 1985). Interior: not inspected.
