3/4 Churchyard Wall attached to south-
east corner of Church of SS Mary and
Edward returned to Lychgate

G.V. II

Churchyard Wall and Lychgate. Wall 2 metres high of rubble with dressed stone
coping and inset fragments of window tracery from former Perpendicular church and
several C17 grave stones removed from churchyard. Lychgate of c.1890 with ashlar
dressings and hipped stone tiled roof set on wooden piers. 2-leaf wooden gates.
The wall has social and historical importance and the Lychgate forms a group with
the garden Temple (q.v.) which backs onto the north east corner of the churchyard
entrance forecourt.
