Farmhouse. Probably C16 origin with C17 alterations and additions, refronted
late C18 with front at former left return, incorporating earlier building, with
later alterations. Rubble, rendered front and right, slate roof with raised
coped verges and brick gable stacks, rear wing to left has double Roman tiled
roof,limestone dressings to wing to right. U-plan formed by 2 rear wings set
close together. 2 storeys and 3 windows, all larger 16-pane sashes, at ground
floor 2 to left and one to right, circular Doric portico with columns on
octagonal bases and cornice, 6-panelled door has fanlight with decorative wrought
iron, reeded surround, round-headed sash above with splayed glazing bars. Right
return rendered, ground floor has 2 stone mullion and transom windows to left,
moulded, with stonework partially replaced, string course above and upper string;
rear wing to right (all former front) of 2 storeys and 4 windows, at ground floor
a glazed porch and door, 4-panelled door in moulded frame, 3-light casement with
transom and upper lights, stone 2-light casement with chamfered mullions and
recessed surround, single light and moulded string course above, stepped to right
of porch; first floor has 2-light stone casements with chamfered mullions and
recessed surround. Left return has gable end of C18 range not rendered, with
C20 plate-glass window at first floor left; lower 2-storey wing to left has
5 windows at first floor and 3 at ground floor, all C20 plate-glass, with
3 glazed doors and rubble porch. Rear and interior not accessible at time of
