Farmhouse. Early C17, with C18, C19 and C20 alterations and additions.
Rubble, brick dressings and stacks, double Roman tiled roof. Originally L-plan
with through passage and dairy wing at rear left, early C19 wing to front right.
2 storeys and 3 bays. C20 porch and door. Irregular fenestration: ground
floor left has two 3-light C20 casements in brick surrounds and one 4-light
casement in brick surround to right. First floor has two 3-light casements in
brick surrounds. Remaining upper part of steeply pointed gable to right
visible above wing. Half-hipped roof to left with large external weathered
stack. Single storey wing with pitched roof has irregular casement windows
with segmental heads and brick surrounds and dormer, external stack in gable end
with brick chimney. Rear has C20 single storey extensions and irregular
fenestration, C20 3-light casements at first floor. Interior: original front
door with strap hinges and latch. Winder stair to right of former through
passage with pig-killing room and cheese-room to right. Deeply chamfered
ceiling joists. Formerly external door to dairy wing has strap hinges and
moulded wooden frame. Front left room has early C19 architraves to windows.
First floor has deeply chamfered ceiling joists with run-out stops and original
plank door with strap hinge to attic stair.
