Late C16, much modernised. 2 storeys with attics, timber-framed and
plastered, tile roof. Street front with carriageway in middle of ground
floor. Ground floor modern cement rustications, 1st floor imitation half
timber work and rouch cast. 4 sash windows. 4 original projecting gables
above with enriched barge boards, and moulded bressummer to overhang with
band of arabesque ornament. River front refaced with gault brick but
has 3 projecting gables as on street front, with moulded barge boards, and
enriched bressummer. Cast iron balcony and canopy along river frontage.
Blocked doorway on north side of carriageway with fine mid C18 architraved
doorcase with pilasters carrying entablature with enriched frieze and
dentil cornice. On south side of carriageway, late C18 doorway with
panelled surround, patterned fanlight and panelled door. RCHM.
Nos. 6 to 28 (even) form a group.
