House formerly a farmhouse. Late C14 with late C16 and C17 alterations and
additions; C19 and C20 alterations. Timber-framed with roughcast render;
brick plinth. Plain tiled roof. Gault brick ridge stack and gable end stack
to left hand. Two storeys. Original open hall of three bays extended by one
bay to north and south. West elevation: Central glaze-panelled door with
canopy, in lobby entry position. Four ground floor horizontal sliding sash
windows with small panes, and five similar smaller first floor windows.
Interior: Substantial timber-frame with later partitions and floor frames
reusing medieval timbers. Smoke blackened collar rafter roof almost complete
with gable end trusses showing weathering on external faces. Open hearth to
south possibly late C16 with hearth to north rebuilt for insertion of C19
staircase of one straight flight.
