13/136 Marshall's Cottage,
Yorke Cottage

GV II

House, formerly the rectory, now two dwellings. 1597, C18 and remodelled
1833. Mainly gault brick casing to possible timber frame but some C18 red
brick to rear wall of west crosswing. Tiled roofs and projecting side stacks
to crosswings. Double ended hall house. Two storeys. Door and window
openings are possibly on site of original, but are now c.1833. Hung sashes
with raised surrounds and labels with return stops. The ground floor of each
crosswing has a canted bay with double hung sashes and a six pane hung sash
above. The west crosswing has a C19 panel with initials EM 1597 and the east
one with HRY 1833. The west crosswing was extended at the rear C18. Red
brick and hipped tiled roof. Two storeys. Segmental arches and raised
surrounds to twelve pane hung sashes with ovolo moulded glazing bars. Inside
the roof probably still retains rafters from the C16 house. Included for
