Watermill. Early C18, partly rebuilt and enlarged in C19 and 1903. Local
brick and C19 brick painted, painted weather boarding to brick and timber-
frame. Slate roofs, mansard to north of left hand range. Two four storey
parallel blocks flanking lane connected by catwalk at third floor level.
Gantry for sack hoist to left hand range facing west, two ventilation
funnels. Various boarded doors at all floor levels, and windows including
transomed and mullioned, and mullioned casement windows. There has been a
mill recorded on the site since c.1270. It was sold in 1908 to Linton
Milling and Corn Co; it ceased working in c.1972. The mill is a prominent
feature in the Granta Valley and has landscape value.
