House. Mid-late C17, with roof raise and extension of C19. Red brick with broad mortar courses on plinth with moulded brick to upper edge. C19 roof of slate with C17 ridge stack of red brick. The four grouped shafts were rebuilt in C19. Original plan of lobby entry and three bays, possibly with contemporary single storey kitchen wing at the rear. Main range of two storeys and attic. Three window openings at first floor, mainly C19 enlargement of original but including one three-light window with ovolo mullion at north end, and another with segmental arched top panes. At ground floor there is a similar window with grill. The rear wall has been partly rebuilt in white brick. There are small original openings to the newell staircase at the side of the stack. C19 addition at front. Gault brick with red brick dressings. Slate roof. One storey.
Interior: abutting inglenook hearths and exposed ceiling beams in kitchen wing. Original dairy at north end of main range.
