An early c19 brick house of circa 1820 with a parapet and cornice, now
cement rendered in Tyrolean finish. A brick wing extends at the rear
on the south side. 2 storeys and attics. 5 window range on the east
front and 5 window range on the ground storey of the south wing, double-hung
sashes with glazing bars, in plain reveals. The 1st storey of the south
wing has C20 easement windows, and a raised band runs between the storeys.
Roofs'tiled, with 2 flat headed dormers on the east front and 2 louvred
dormers on the south wing.
Nos 54 to 64 (even), Ely Maltings, & No 68 (Malting Cottage) form a group with
Nos 51 to 53 (consec), Malthouse adjoining No 53, Quay House, & No 55 and the
house adjoing No 55 Waterside.
