House and shop. No.28 is early C17, altered. Upper storey is
timber framed with brick infill, partly herringbone. Right gable
is similar but much restored C20. Ground floor rebuilt in brick
C19-C20, the right bay underbuilt, the left bay with first floor
jettied on beam ends. Old tile roof, central brick chimney with
pilasters, another brick chimney to right. 2 storeys, 2 bays. C20
3-light barred wooden casements,small paired leaded casement to centre
of first floor. Brick panel below upper left window has moulded
brick sill and moulded brickwork forming a simple open pediment with
diamond finials over the lower window. C20 door to left of right
bay has flat wooden hood on brackets. No. 30 has C19 brick front and
old tile roof, 2 storeys and one bay of 3-light barred wooden casements.
Flush panelled door to right with similar hood. Wing to rear of this
bay incorporates late medieval structure with one cruck truss and
inserted stone chimney-stack.
