House. Late C16, extended in C17 and C20. Timber framed, plastered, roof thatched.
Main range of 3 bays facing SE, with axial stack at right end and C18/C19 stack at
left end. C17 2-bay crosswing to right with small C19 and C20 extensions beyond
roofed with corrugated asbestos. C20 crosswing to left. One storey with attics.
Ground floor, one C20 splayed bay of casements, 3 C20 casements. First floor,
4 more, including 2 in slated swept dormers. 4-panel door with upper panels
glazed, in C20 porch with felt roof. Both crosswings half-hipped. The main range
has jowled posts, arched braces trenched inside heavy studding, chamfered axial and
transverse beams with lamb's tongue stops, plain joists of horizontal section,
original rebated floorboards. Large wood-burning hearth, refaced in C20. The
right crosswing has a chamfered binding beam, plain joists of vertical section,
and a clasped purlin roof, early C17. Formerly Hogg's Farm. RCHM 66.
