Cottage, former farmhouse. C16 or earlier and tim'ber framed and plastered with
gabled thatched roof. Of one storey with attics and 3 gabled dormers on
front. Gabled C20 porch and C20 extension at rear. One off centre ridgeline
stack and gable end stack at south end. Former small open hall house with in-
line chamber at south end. Heavy jowled posts and halved and bridled scarf
joints. Remnants of soot blackened crown post roof showing former hipped and
gablet arrangement at south end. Unusually, the hip rafters rise to ridgeline
rather than base of gablets, but are similarly soot blackened.
