House, c.1500, altered in C19 and C20. Timber framed, plastered, roofed with
handmade red clay tiles. 3 bays aligned NE-SW, aspect NW, with late C16 chimney
stack in middle bay. C19 single-storey extension to NE, with central chimney
stack. C20 single-storey extension with hipped roof to SW. 2 storeys. Door in
tiled gabled porch, 6 casement windows on ground floor, 3 on first floor, of
which 2 are in gabled half-dormers, all C20. The interior has jowled posts,
edge-halved and bridled scarfs in the wallplates, plain joists of horizontal
section jointed to chamfered axial beams with unrefined soffit tenons. The roof
is of crownpost construction and mainly as built, with nearly all the original
rafters and collars, most of the collar purlin, and one plain crownpost. Walls
entirely plastered.
