House, C16 or earlier, altered in C18 and C20. Timber framed, plastered,
roofed with handmade red clay tiles. Main range aligned NE-SW, aspect SE, with
external chimney stack at rear. 2 2-bay crosswings, each with an internal
chimney stack, and each with extensions to the rear and additional chimney
stacks at the ends. Single-storey lean-to extension in W angle. 2 storeys.
Both crosswings are jettied to the front, each with 2 grotesque brackets, early
C20, and a facade gable projects in the middle. All 3 gables have dentilled
bargeboards, late C19/early C20. C20 door in tiled gabled porch with label
and dentilled bargeboards, late C19/early C20. 2 C20 splayed bays, one C20
casement window, and one early C17 window of 3 fixed lights, all ovolo-moulded,
and one wrought iron casement. On first floor 3 late C19/early C20 casement
windows with labels, and one without, and one early C17 window of 2 fixed
lights, ovolo-moulded, and one wrought iron casement. Interior not accessible
at time of survey. Comprehensively restyled in late C19 or early C20, with some
features introduced. RCHM 3.
