Gosfield Hall. Four Gas Lamps in Courtyard.

Gas Lamps. C19. Cast iron on moulded and panelled stone plinths. Ornate
pierced circles hold splayed foliate bases above which ornate leaves clasp
leaves of a simple design from which spring fluted columns with floral capitals
the stamen-like supports of which grasp the base of the polygonal lamps. The
cornices of the flat central panels are moulded and pierced and surmounted by
hipped panels with small ventilator domes and foliate finials. The glass head
to one lamp is missing.
