House, now a public house. Late C15/early C16. Timber framed, plastered,
roofed with handmade red clay tiles. 5 bays facing S with axial stacks. C20
rear extensions. 2 storeys. 5-window range of C20 casements. 2 C20 doors.
Roof hipped. The long elevation was jettied originally, now underbuilt. The
interior has chamfered beams and plain joists of horizonal section. On the
first floor there are 2 doorways with 4-centred arched heads. The 2 bays at the
right side originally formed one large room, now sub-divided, retaining wide
arched braces to the central tiebeam. Crownpost roof with axial braces. RCHM
