Detached dwelling. C16/C17. Rendered, double roman tile roof with large gable
stack to road gable. A T-plan block, with gable to River Wye, and a short
gabled extension forming the central arm of the T towards the road. Road elevation
is one-storey, small 2-light C19 casement and a C20 glazed door, set close
to arm which here is bevelled off to gain extra space for door; then right
in 2 storeys a 9-pane casement and 12-pane sash. To rear a 2-light C19 casement
over canted C19 bay. On the far side are two 2-light chamfered mullion casements
over C20 panel doors. A later extension added at north end, back.
Interior has large bressummer fireplace flanked by spiral stair, on road front,
and, opposite a 2-light C17 window and door in 4-centred opening. One large
beam with stopped chamfer remains. A much modified house of early provenance
at an important site in the settlement.
