Barn, gin-gang and outbuildings. Probably mid C18 and C19. Sandstone rubble
with quoins and ashlar dressings. Pantiled roof except for corrugated iron
on gin-gang. 2-storey, 2-bay barn, with one-storey, 3-bay outbuilding
attached at right and small one-storey, one-bay right extension; gin-gang to
rear of barn. Barn has side stone steps to Dutch door and 2 worn stone steps
in second bay of first floor; flat stone lintel to door. Small square vent
at left on ground floor, and vent slit above. Partly-glazed ventilators at
eaves flank boarded door of-one-storey building; similar door in lower right
extension. Barn gable coping has small steps formed by rubble courses. Left
return shows segmental-arched entrance, with rough voussoirs, partly obscured
by C20 double boarded vehicle doors; 2 vent slits on first floor. 2 tiers of
pigeon holes in gable peak formed by thin bricks set diagonally on 2 brick
shelves, the whole a rough triangle. Small pent one-storey, one-bay rear
extension on left return was earth closet. Rear gin -gang of 5 stone piers,
the openings partly blocked, has original internal beams and is included for
group value.
