Farmhouse. C17 with C18 and C19 alterations. Pebble-dashed render with
painted ashlar dressings; Welsh slate roof with stone gable copings and
painted rendered chimneys. L-plan. 3-storey, 3-bay main block with 2-storey,
2-bay right addition. Main block has central half-glazed panelled door; large
C19 sashes in outer bays on first 2 floorsand small 4-pane fixed lights on
top floor have projecting stone sills; first-floor windows the largest; top-
floor windows slightly to right of each bay. Roof has moulded kneelers
supporting raised copings which fade into massive stepped stacks with ashlar
cornices.
Extension has glazed door at right, and late C19 sashes; long conservatory at
right with pent roof. Right end gable coping; corniced chimneys at centre
and right end of ridge. Left return of main block shows external stack.
Rear has 2-storey wing to second bay of main house; pent one-storey extensions
to outer bays; 2-storey extension to first bay of C19 build.
Interior shows large stone Tudor-arched fire surround on ground floor in first
bay, with ogee-stopped chamfers to moulded jambs; smaller fire surround of
same period transferred from first,floor, first bay to ground floor, third bay.
Large panelled, corniced C17 stone fire surround in left bay of C19 build is
imported from Gloucestershire.
C19 open-well stair in rear wing has narrow ramped handrail on stick balusters.
Owner reports stone-mullioned window found beneath plaster in rear wing.
Altered roof has collared trusses with overlapping purlins, and waney rafters.
