Inn. C17 with much C19 modification. Rendered but painted rubble to gable
and back walls. L-plan forming small forecourt at junction with Chapel Hill
and opposite the market cross (qv); small lower extension, right, gable to
street. Two gable stacks. Facade to High Street, 1½ storeys, small 2-light
gabled dormer over two 2-light C19 casements with bars to very small panes,
central C20 door under moulded stopped drip; return front right is 2 storeys,
1-windowed, 1 over 2-light multi-paned casements, moulded string at mid height
returns to street gable which has blocked light to gable with stopped drip,
over small 3-light C19 casement, over offset 2-light multi-paned C19 casement;
corner of main wall is chamfered. Blocked light also to back gable.
Interior has spiral stair in shaft, one blocked window.
