Former gate lodge, now private house. Mid C19 for Brancepeth Estate. Squared
sandstone in narrow courses with ashlar dressings. Graduated green slate roof
and ashlar chimney stack. T-plan. Tudor style. 2 storeys, 2 bays: cross-
gabled right bay projecting to front and rear and set-back left bay forming
leg of T. Entrance on gabled return of left bay. 3-light mullioned window
under hoodmould on ground floor right; similar 2-light window above; chamfered
coping on gable with ball finials on square kneelers and at apex. Extruded
loggia on left bay has 3 Tuscan columns supporting a hipped roof. Small
gabled porch, with chamfered round-arched doorway, on left return. Lean-to
one-storey outshut on rear of left bay. Tall lateral stack on right return.
