Three cottages in terrace - probably originally one house. C17. Rubble stone walls,
stone slate roofs, 2 stone stacks, and one brick stack at left end. One storey and
attic. No. 29 has a 6-panel door with C20 side light. Ground floor has one C20
casement with glazing bars. Attic has one gabled dormer with similar casement.
Internally, main ground floor-room has large open fireplace, part built up, with
stone 4-centred arched lintol. Some exposed ceiling beams. No. 31 (Merryleas)
has C20 battened door. Ground has one plain casement in stone surround
(formerly mullioned), and small square stone window left of this. Small blocked
2-light stone window under eaves. Attic has one gabled dormer with casement in
remains of stone surround (formerly mullioned). 2 Fire Insurance plaques on front
wall - probably re-set. Internally, main ground floor has large open fire-
place with stone 4-centred arched lintol. Some exposed ceiling beams. Roof with
collar-beam trusses. No. 33 has ledged door. Ground floor has one casement with
glazing bars under projecting stone head. Attic has one brick gabled doorway near
left end, under continuous timber lintol serving door to No. 31. Main ground floor
room-has large open fireplace with timber lintol. (RCHM, Monument 34. Dorset.
