Well Head in Bretton Park

Well head. Mid C18, though incorporating an earlier inscription. Ashlar facade to a rock hewn cave. Slightly curved front has central doorway set in plain ashlar surround with either side 2 columns with unusual capitals supporting an entablature topped with a central inscription plaque and side finials. The partially legible inscription states that it was built for Grace, Countess of Eglintoun in 1685.
