House. Built circa 1835, extended north late C19. Witchert, rendered and
colourwashed. Hipped slate roof. 3 wide bays, then 2 wide bay addition.
2 storeys under continuous roof. East front has to c1835 part central
2 panel door and porch of simplified Doric comumns. Right bay has
3 sashes. First floor has oriel to outer bays with french casements.
Balconies with cast-iron rails and panel standards to verandah. Honeysuckle
pattern to right, scrolls to left. Flanking stacks. Then 2 bays to
north have, in left bay, 3 sashes, and in right bay one sash with door to
ground floor. Projecting eaves, stack at right. South elevation of 2 bays
has ground floor canted bay windows with french casements wood balcony
rails and verandah over. An interesting example of the use of high quality
witchert on a late Georgian villa. Extending from north east angle is
witchert boundary wall which curves round and runs south along Churchway.
Roughcast and painted on a rubble plinth. 3 tile and ridge tile coping.
Ramps down at corner. 3 panelled gatepiers opposite entrance door with
plinthes and pyramidal caps. Timber gates.
