9/22 The Swan Public House

Hall house, now public house. Late C15 with C17 extension, altered C19 and
C20. Timber framed with painted plaster and brick infill, old tile gabled
roof. L-plan, 3 framed bays front part with one bay hall now floored, and
smoke bay with C17 chimney inserted and one framed bay either side. 2
framed bays C17 extension at rear; former byre with old tile hipped roof
to left. 2 storey. Road front:- with ridge stack 3 bays upper C19
casement windows of 2 and 3 lights with horizontal glazing bars. 3 bays of
C20 small pane bow windows on ground floor with gabled entry porch to right
of centre. Interior:- complete frame exposed on first floor, large curved
windbraces and braces to jowl posts. Redundant crown post trusses.
Shutter grooves survive in window opening of first floor room on north
east.
