9/40 Langleypond Farmhouse
II
Farmhouse, now 2 houses. Late C16, altered C18, C19 and mid 20. Timber framed,
encased in vitreous brick with red dressings; tiled gabled roof, false timbering
on gables with roughcast infill. H-plan, crosswings on north and south, small
one storey C20 extension at rear. 2 storeys. One large late C16 flank chimney
on right, one later ridge chimney, one on left hand crosswing. Entrance front:-
brick string course. 2 and 3-light C20 leaded casements, some with segmental
brick arches. Main part 3 bays with blocked centre window on first floor, C20
entrance door under small hipped roof on left. One bay crosswing gable projec-
ting on left and one bay crosswing gable on right, flush with main part.
Interior:- 2 moulded beams exposed in left hand crosswing on ground floor, with a
fragment of an outer beam with a tudor rose carved in relief. Inglenook chimney
with spice alcove in main part.
