C18 gable ended red stretchers grey headers. Moulded fascia and soffite to eaves.
Two storeys and attic, plain tile roof, flanking chimney on left hand. Ground floor
part rendered and colourwashed. Three double hung sashes with glazing bars in flush
surrounds, brick string at first floor. Modern projecting square bay shop front and
door in "Georgian" style. Old insurance plaque on front wall over entrance.
Behind are a range of C16-C17 one and two storey timber frame buildings. One at
right angles to front and joined to it has three bays, green post roof and clasped
purlins with an old four-light diamond mullioned window at first floor east end of
south elevation. Next to this at left is a two-light window, later but old. Modern
small pane window on left hand and small old fixed light window on ground floor. Old
tile roofs.
Many old timbers exposed internally, some re-used.
On rear elevation (west) of C18 house an elegant C18 doorcase re-positioned from front,
with rounded and reeded pilasters, decorated flat hood with shallow projection.
There is a further building at right angles to timber frame at rear which is C19 and
of no special interest.
