GV II
Public House. Late C18-early C19 with later alterations and addition to
left. Squared limestone with red brick dressings and stacks. Early section
with central entrance hall plan. 2 storeys, 3 bays; symmetrical, with 2-bay
addition. Rendered plinth. Late C19 2-leaf door in pilaster doorcase with
plain entablature and hood, flanked by 16-pane sashes in flush wood
architraves with painted segmental brick arches and stucco cills. First
floor has one 16-pane and two later 4-pane sashes, with a narrower window
over entrance. Section to left: one 16-pane flush sash under stucco flat
arch, one blocked window and 2 inserted casements to ground floor, and 2
similar 16-pane sashes above. Plain eaves board. Brick-edged stone-coped
gables. Axial stack and end stack to right.
