Icehouse. C18. Built of limestone blocks with some copper slag and brick. Circular structure with domed roof exposed above ground level. Remains of walls flank leading/unleading chute with larger chute to one side. This ice house had a capacity of approx 250 tons, making it one of the largest examples in England. It was probably built in association with the grottos and other features in the grounds of Warmley House, owned in the mid/late C18 by William Champion, brass founder.
