House. C17 of 2 builds, altered C19 renovated c1990. Brick encasing
raised crook and timber-framed with brick infill on stone plinth;
thatched roofs. L-shaped plan with 1-storey, 2-bay range on right of
2-storey and attic, 2-bay crosswing. 1-storey part C19 brick walling
and C20 wooden casements; French window to gable end and boarded door
to rear. Crosswing gable has square-panelled framework with 3-light
window to ground floor and 2-light window above; jowled wallposts,
diagonal braces to cambered tie beam; exposed truss with studs below
the collar and V-struts above (now glazed). Door in right return with
thatched canopy and window above. Left return has rendered panels; two
small 3-light casements to ground floor, another beneath the eaves.
Small brick stacks to each ridge.
Interior (not fully inspected): 1 storey part with raised cruck frame
of light scantling; ridge set on saddle block; original purlins and
rafters. Inglenook fireplace with ashlar-lined recess, wooden
bressumer and exposed brick smokehood. Crosswing: ashlar lined
inglenook fireplace to ground-floor rear has small oak wall cupboard
within; chamfered spine beam and heavy-scantling common joists with
stopped chamfers. Front room: heavily-moulded spine beam (re-used and
possibly from demolished crosswing of Red Roof Farm nearby). Exposed
timbers to 1st floor and attic.

House. C17, with C19/C20 wing. Timber framed with brick infill; left return side
has rendered infill. Wing of brick. Corrugated iron roofs; brick ridge stacks.
2-unit plan with gable end to road, and wing at right angles. 2 storeys;
one-window range. Jowled posts. Ground floor has Cl9 three-light casements to
ground floor and right return side. First floor has C20 two-light casement.
Horizontal glazing bars. Return side has C19 casement with glazing bars. Small
attic light. One-storey-and-attic wing has C19 filled light window and 2-light
casement with glazing bars. Entrance in right return side has C20 part-glazed
door. Interior not inspected.
