Large house. Dated 1915 on rainwater head. Built in C17 vernacular style.
Entrance forecourt with service wing along east side, main house along south
side. Rendered brick with stone dressings. Steeply pitched plain tile roofs
with gabled ends. Two storeys and attic. Main range along south side of
forecourt of four bays, three with gables. To right gabled bay with four-light
stone mullioned casements with leaded panes at first floor, and narrow light at
attic. Projecting square two-storey porch with semicircular arched entrance,
three-light stone mullioned casements at first floor, balustrade above. To
left of porch a gabled bay with two-light stone mullioned casements at first
floor and narrow light at attic. To left at eastern end of main range another
gabled bay with four-light stone mullioned casements at ground floor and first
floor, narrow light at attic. Service wing along east side of forecourt with
two broad gabled bays. Right hand bay with six-panelled door and two-light
stone mullioned casement to left, three-light to right of door, and at first
floor two 2-light stone mullioned casements. Narrow light at attic. To left
slightly projecting gabled bay with five-light stone mullioned casements at
ground floor, and at first floor two 3-light stone mullioned casements. Narrow
light at attic. All lights with leaded panes. Large diagonally placed square
red brick chimney shafts. Interior: fine period interiors particularly to
ground floor rooms.
