Parish Church. Late C12 nave and north arcade. C14 chancel, C15 north aisle
and south nave arcade and aisle, west tower after 1729. Coursed rubble
stone with ashlar dressings and ashlar faced west tower. Lead roofs to nave
and aisles, slate to chancel. Chancel has plain sedilia and piscina. Across
chancel arch is lower part of early C17 screen with strapwork pilasters and
late C18 cast iron gate in centre. Nave north arcade of 2 bays C1190. Circular
pier square abacus, capitals with feathery acanthus. Slight chamfer to
pointed arches. South arcade has octagonal pier. West tower with plain parapet
and small corner pinnacles. Arched windows, ironstone arches. Mask keyblock
over arched west door and eroded date tablet. Late C12 octagonal font. Early
C19 pulpit. C19 wall tablets. Nave clerestory of 3 windows. Of nave roof
of 3 bays. C16 aisle roofs. North wall of Chancel. Monuments to Sir Thomas Tyrril
1671 and wife Bridget. Black and white marble. 2 effigies, he reclining.
Pediment, curtains looped to columns. Cartouche.
