House in the village street. Early C18. Ashlar; Cotswold stone slate roof;
ashlar and rubble stacks (restored); moulded eaves cornice. 2 storeys,
cellars and attics in hipped dormers formerly with ball finials. 5 bays with
French rusticated end pilasters and continuous moulded string over ground floor.
Late C18 paired glazing bar sash windows on ground floor; 18-pane thick glazing
bar sash windows in moulded architraves on first floor; all with panelled
aprons. Central 6 panel door under an overlight and in a bolection moulded
surround; carved stone shell hood on carved consoles. 2 storey and attic rear
wing of 2 bays with a C19 bay window on the ground floor. Single storey
extension at rear, which was formerly a police station cell. A good local
example of provincial baroque.
