Large house on the edge of town. Early C19, extended late C19.
Incised stucco and render with bands; dry slate hipped roofs
behind parapet; curved ramps or scrolled brackets to stuccoed
axial and lateral stacks with moulded entablature. Large
double-depth plan plus service wings.
2 storeys; 5-window range to principal garden front. Mostly
original hornless sashes with glazing bars to original part
and horned sashes to later part. Ground floor has French
windows and ornate iron verandah with tented copper roof.
Right-hand return has large 2-storey canted bay window and a
2-storey square bay window. Left-hand return has round-arched
stair window with intersecting glazing bars and later
projecting ground floor with pedimented doorway with pilasters
and Corinthian capitals.
INTERIOR: not inspected but said to retain many original
features of interest.
