House, late C16/early C17, 2 storeys and timber and plastered. At right angles to
road, with crosswing at S end and gabled peg tile roofs. Exterior has C20 casements
with glazing bars, false timber framing and ridge line stack. Interior reveals
parlour/service crosswing at S end and that 'in-line' parlour end was end jettied.
Probable open hall of 1 bay with C17 double sided stack, with inglenooks, that to the
solar wing having elliptical plan form. Remains of many former windows can be traced,
that to the solar having the usual 'hall' format of 3 lights either side of a central
square mullion. Here, the tie beam archbraces survive in later partition. Roof is
clasped side purlins.
