House. Early C19, possibly of C18 origin. Gault brick in Flemish bond, some
red brick and plaster, roofed with handmade red clay tiles. Main range facing
SE, with internal stack at each end. Crosswing to left with internal stack at
rear, mid-C19 extension to left of it, and C20 flat-roofed single-storey
extension to rear of it. Crosswing to right with one internal stack and
external stack to right, and C19 single-storey lean-to extension to right. C20
flat-roofed 2-storey and single-storey extensions to rear of main range. Both
crosswings project forwards. 2 storeys and attics. 4-window range of early C19
sashes of 20 lights, and similar sash of 16 lights over door, with some crown
glass. The left extension has one mid-C19 sash of 12 lights on the ground
floor, and a blocked sash on the first floor. 2 parapet gables, each with a
blind window aperture. One C19 casement in flat-roofed dormer. Central C19
door with 2 round-headed lights in Tuscan portico. Roof of main range
half-hipped. Where the interior framing has been exposed the posts are
unjowled, the beams are plain or chamfered with runout stops, and the joists are
plain and of deep vertical section, all typical C18/19 features.
