Bell's Court is off Castle Hill and may have a connection with local builders of that name. William Bell & Sons, whose premises were very near this location, went on to be involved in the construction and improvement of many buildings in the later 19th century in and around Cambridge, including All Saints' Church, Jesus Lane, old Addenbrooke's Hospital and Cambridge Guildhall.
