House. C18 with later rear additions. Timber framed and rough rendered with
batten decoration. Parapet. Red plain tiled roof with 2 gabled dormers. Rear
wings. Central and rear red brick chimney stacks. 2 storeys and attics. 3
window range of small paned vertically sliding sashes. Central C19 hipped
weatherboarded porch. 4 panelled 2 light door, moulded pilasters with moulded
capitals and bases, urn and swag decoration to frieze, moulded corner patera,
dentilled cornice. Internally, the frame is complete with arched through
bracing and pegged side purlin roof. Some original vertically boarded doors
with ironmongery. Chamfered bridging joists. The house appears to be one of
the few larger homes in Great Clacton not associated with a farm but built for
and occupied by a local man, Daniel Prentice. It was freehold and not copyhold
