6/12 Orchard Cottage

II

House, early C19 of 'late Georgian' character. Timber framed and plastered
and of two storeys. Low pitched slate roof, with simple bargeboards and small
flat roofed rear extension. Gable end, red brick chimney stack. Front has
3 double hung sash windows with square panes and moulded surrounds, over 2
similar but deeper windows and central doorcase. This has flat, cornice/hood,
thin pilasters with lion's head in the frieze. Original 4 panel door with top
panels moulded and of deep vertical proportions.
